asks:
Why Blade though? Blade is nothing like the Mcu films and if so, please explain.

joequesada:

Blade was the very first Marvel licensed movie to be released in the modern Marvel Movie era. While it was’t produced by Marvel Studios (we didn’t exists at the time) I think it opened Hollywood’s eyes to the power of Marvel and many comic properties. Here you had a character like Blade who historically never had huge success as a comic with respect to sales, yet was fantastic source material for a really great movie and subsequent sequels. Also, you could argue that Blade was the kicked off an entire genre of gothy, action, sexy vampire/horror movies.

Many people overlook Blade and it’s importance.

asks:
We may only have enough free time to rewatch 3 MCU movies before we catch Age of Ultron on Thursday. What three are most important for us to rewatch?

joequesada:

Depends what you want to accomplish. An interesting series of three to watch would be The first Blade, Spider-Man and Iron Man movies because each signified an important step in Marvel movie history, Plus I think people tend to forget how important a movie Blade was.
